About
This workshop took place December 15th at 10 am (AEST) via zoom. You can however purchase the recording to the workshop, which includes all the resources that those who attended live received. This one hour workshop has been designed to explore the history of parental discipline and how we came to be so open to, and reliant on time outs. This workshop is for parents, caregivers, and professionals who want to learn more about time outs and alternative ways to help kids manage their big emotions. Topics covered include: What is a time out? - The history of time outs: how did we get here? - Why do we gravitate towards time outs? - Are time outs really that bad? - Do they even work!? - Well if I don’t use time outs, how do I manage behaviour? - Why is it important to focus on emotions rather than behaviour? - Is there ever a time that time outs should be used? - Okay, but what are my options? I feel like I am drowning! I need alternatives!!
